Ypsolopha scabrella
(Linnaeus, 1761)
Wingspan 20-22 mm.
Frequenting gardens and woodlands, this species is sporadically common over much of England and parts of Wales.
Three raised tufts of scales are visible when the moth is at rest.
Nocturnal, it flies in July and August and is attracted by light.
The larvae feed on apple (Malus) or hawthorn (Crataegus).
