Udea alpinalis - Distribution map
Please note that the NBN Gateway map service has been terminated as of 1 April 2017.
As soon as a replacement map service is available, distribution maps will hopefully appear here again.
In the meantime, you can get some idea of distribution from the NBN Atlas website.

Udea alpinalis
([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)
Wingspan c. 25mm.
The status of this species in Britain is uncertain. There is a single record from Cumbria in the late 19th century, backed up by a museum specimen, and being an alpine species in Europe, may remain undiscovered elsewhere in Britain.
It resembles U. uligonosalis, but has a much more distinct white reniform stigma on the forewing and noticeably paler hindwings with a dark border.
Abroad, the larva feeds on ragwort (Senecio).
