Levant Blackneck Tathorhynchus exsiccata
(Lederer, 1855)
Wingspan c. 28-34 mm.
A sporadic migrant mainly to the southern coastal regions of England, most generally in early spring, but also records in autumn to November. There have been around a dozen records to date, mostly attracted to light.
The adults more resemble one of the wainscots rather than their namesake Blackneck species.
Abroad it occurs in the Mediterranean and African regions, where the larvae are reported to feed on lucerne and tree indigo.
