Stictea mygindiana

Wingspan 15-20mm.

A species of heathland and moorland, this attractive moth flies during the afternoon and early evening.

It can be found on the wing during May and June. It is a species of northern Britain, occurring from Staffordshire northwards to Scotland and into Ireland.

The larvae make spinnings amongst the leaves of cowberry (Vaccinium vitis-idaea) and other low moorland plants.
