Scythris sinensis

(Felder & Rogenhofer, 1875)

Wingspan c. 12mm.

This species is known here only from two specimens, presumably accidentally imported, discovered in a shop in Kent in 1980.

It is known from the Far East, and in recent years has been noted in Eastern Europe. It also has been found in a number of other European countries, thought to have been additional accidental introductions by man.

There are two forms, one with plain blackish wings, the other with distinctive yellow spots. Both have diagnostic yellow abdomens.
