Scrobipalpa suaedella
(Richardson, 1893)
Wingspan c.14 mm.
Distributed around the south-east coasts of England and East Anglia, this is a saltmarsh species, and is quite local.
The flight period of the adults is during June and July.
As suggested by the scientific name, the larval foodplants are species of Suaeda, particularly shrubby sea-blite (Suaeda vera). The larva feeds in a gallery amongst the flowers and leaves.
