Shaded Broad-bar Scotopteryx chenopodiata
(Linnaeus, 1758)
Wingspan 25-30 mm.
Widespread and fairly common throughout Britain except for the very north of Scotland, inhabiting a range of open habitats.
The species has one generation, the adults flying in July and August.
The larvae feed on vetch (Vicia) and clover (Trifolium).
