Mullein Wave Scopula marginepunctata

(Goeze, 1781)

Wingspan 25-28 mm.

The distribution of this species is mainly coastal, and it occurs over a large part of the British Isles in these areas.

Quite a variable species, there are some very pale forms, and also darker grey examples.

It flies in June and July, and again in August and September in the south.

The larvae feed on low plants including yarrow (Achillea millefolium) and mugwort (Artemesia vulgaris).
