Frosted Green Polyploca ridens
(Fabricius, 1787)
Wingspan 30-35 mm.
Distributed in the southern half of England and Wales, this species is becomes scarcer further north.
Attracted easily to light, the adults fly quite early in the year, in April and May.
Oak (Quercus) is the foodplant of the caterpillars, and the species is to be found in mature oak woods.
