The Concolorous Photedes extrema

(Hübner, [1809])

[Synonyms: Photedes extrema]
Wingspan 26-28 mm.

A very local species occurring mainly in the Huntingdonshire fens. There have been a few records in the south, which are attributed to migrants.

The adults fly in June and July and are attracted to light. On some specimens the row of blackish dots on the forewing is conspicuous, on others almost absent.

The larvae feed internally on the stems of small-reed (Calamagrostis spp.)
