Parornix loganella
(Stainton, 1848)
Wingspan c. 10mm.
A largely northern species, occurring from Lancashire and Yorkshire northwards with a few records from further south.
Occupying woodland and moorland/hillsides with plenty of the foodplant birch Betulae, the early stages are very similar to those of P. Betulae, initially forming a gallery, then later a fold in a leaf.
There is a single generation, with adults flying in May-June and larvae present in July -August.
