Please note that the NBN Gateway map service has been terminated as of 1 April 2017.

As soon as a replacement map service is available, distribution maps will hopefully appear here again.

In the meantime, you can get some idea of distribution from the NBN Atlas website.

Tawny Marbled Minor Oligia latruncula

([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Wingspan 24-27 mm.

The Minors, or Oligia species are notoriously hard to separate from one another, and it is preferable to examine the genitalic structure to be certain. However, this species does often show a tawny or bronzy coloration.

It is relatively common throughout Britain and flies during May to July.

Like related species, the larvae feed on a variety of grasses.
