Nothris congressariella - Distribution map

Please note that the NBN Gateway map service has been terminated as of 1 April 2017.

As soon as a replacement map service is available, distribution maps will hopefully appear here again.

In the meantime, you can get some idea of distribution from the NBN Atlas website.

Nothris congressariella

(Bruand, 1858)

Wingspan c.15-20 mm.

An extremely localised species, occurring only on the Isles of Scilly and a few localities in Cornwall, and on Lundy (Devon).

The larva feeds between spun leaves of balm-leaved figwort (Scrophularia scorodonia), the foodplant itself being very localised and hence dictating the distribution of the moth.

There are two generations, moths being on the wing from May to July and again from September to October.
