Nascia cilialis

(Hübner, 1796)

Wingspan 24-27 mm.

A scarce species, occurring in the fenland habitats of east and central southern England, where it can however be locally common.

The adult is quite distinctive, having darker veins on a rufous ground colour. It flies during June and July and is attracted to light.

The larvae feed on greater pond sedge (Carex riparia) and sometimes other sedges.
