Monochroa tenebrella
(Hübner, [1817])
Wingspan c. 11mm.
This unicolorous, rather nondescript little moth is well-distributed across much of Britain and Ireland, being relatively common in some parts.
It frequents open grassy areas and heathland, and the adult moths can be found in June and July, when they fly during the day, especially in sunshine.
The larva feeds on the roots of sheep's sorrel (Rumex acetosella)
