A rare species in Britain, occurring mainly in the fens of Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, with one or two older records from Somerset and Yorkshire.
The adult moths are distinctive with their two-tone ochreous forewings sporting two distinct black spots on each. They fly in June and July and are attracted to light.
Little is published about the life history but the larvae are believed to feed on iris elsewhere in Europe.
