Metzneria littorella

Wingspan 9-14mm

A scarce species occurring on the south coast of the Isle of Wight, a single coastal site in Sussex and on Guernsey.

The smallest member of this genus, the moths pale grey forewing with two obscure pale yellowish streaks is distinctive.

The larvae feed in the seedheads of buck?s-horn plantain Plantago coronopus.

The moths fly during May and June.
