Twin-spotted Wainscot Lenisa geminipuncta

(Haworth, 1809)

Wingspan 27-32 mm.

Confined to the reedbeds of southern England and south Wales, this species can however be fairly common in its chosen habitat.

It flies in August and September and can be attracted in small numbers to light.

The caterpillar feeds in the stems of common reed (Phragmites australis).
