Lampronia pubicornis - Distribution map

Please note that the NBN Gateway map service has been terminated as of 1 April 2017.

As soon as a replacement map service is available, distribution maps will hopefully appear here again.

In the meantime, you can get some idea of distribution from the NBN Atlas website.

Lampronia pubicornis

(Haworth, 1828)

Wingspan c. 12-14mm.

A rather localised and uncommon species, recorded from a few localities in Northern England, Scotland and Ireland, on sandy/rocky limestone habitats where the foodplant occurs.

The larvae feed on the shoots of burnet rose (Rosa pimpinellifolia), distorting the growth.

Adult moths fly in May and June.
