Lampronia luzella - Distribution map

Please note that the NBN Gateway map service has been terminated as of 1 April 2017.

As soon as a replacement map service is available, distribution maps will hopefully appear here again.

In the meantime, you can get some idea of distribution from the NBN Atlas website.

Lampronia luzella

(Hübner, [1817])

Wingspan c. 12mm.

Although widely distributed throughout much of Britain, this species is rather local and scarce, and little is known of its life history in this country, although observations suggest that the moth is associated with bramble (Rubus).

The adults have four yellowish-white spots on the forewing, against a purplish-brown ground colour.

Adult moths are on the wing from May to July and fly in afternoon sunshine.
