The Olive Ipimorpha subtusa
([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)
Wingspan 27-30 mm.
Fairly widely distributed over much of Britain as far north as southern Scotland, but relatively uncommon and local.
The species inhabits woodlands and marshy areas, and flies in July and August.
The caterpillar spins together the leaves of its foodplants, which are aspen (Populus tremulosa) and other poplars (Populus spp.).
