Treble Brown Spot Idaea trigeminata

(Haworth, 1809)


Wingspan 23-25 mm.

This distinctive moth is found around woodland edges and hedgerows, but only locally occurs in the southern parts of England and Wales.

The adults are on the wing from late May to early July, and can be attracted to light.

The caterpillars feed on ivy (Hedera), knotgrass (Polygonum) and other low-growing plants.
