Grapholita lobarzewskii
(Nowicki, 1860)
[Synonyms: Cydia prunivorana]Wingspan c.14mm.
A scarce and local species, with relatively few records in Britain. Most records are from the southern counties, and rather scattered. The specimen illustrated from Kenilworth, found in June 2009, was the first record for Warwickshire.
The larvae feed in the fruits of plum and cherry (Prunus), and on the continent is also known from apple (Malus).
Flight period is typically in May and June.
