Gelechia cuneatella

Douglas, 1852

Wingspan c. 13-16mm.

Another rare and local species, with few modern records. Most early records are from East Yorkshire and South-eastern counties, although a number have been found in the Midlands and Warwickshire in recent years.

The favoured habitats are river banks and marshes, and the larvae are said to feed on various willow (Salix) species, although little is written about the early stages.

Adult moths fly in a single generation in August and September.
