Evergestis extimalis

(Scopoli, 1763)

Wingspan 25-31mm.

This species is a scarce resident in parts of south-east England, but otherwise is only found as an occasional migrant to the south.

It prefers dry chalky habitats, and the adult moths fly in June and July, though migrants are sometimes found later in the autumn.

The larval foodplants are various plants of the Cruciferae, the seed-heads being preferred.
