Vine Moth Eupoecilia ambiguella
(Hübner, 1796)
Wingspan c.12-15 mm.
In Britain, this is quite a scarce species occurring locally in the south east of England and south Wales. On the continent it can be quite common and a pest species where it feeds on grape vine.
In this country the larva feeds on various shrubs including alder buckthorn (Frangula alnus) and ivy (Hedera), consuming the berries.
The adults fly from late May into June, flying towards dusk and after dark, when it comes to light.
