Juniper Pug Eupithecia pusillata

Wingspan 17-21 mm.

A fairly distinctive, usually quite dark brownish grey moth, which occurs in chalk and limestone districts, as well as parks, gardens and suburban habitats.

The moth flies between July and September, in one generation, and is well distributed throughout Britain.

The caterpillars live on juniper (Juniperus) including garden varieties, and other cultivated conifers.
