Wingspan 19-22 mm.
Found in deciduous woodland, hedgerows and suburban habitats, this quite small species is locally widespread in England, Wales and Ireland.
The single generation flies in May and June, and is most regularly encountered at light.
The larvae feed on the flowers of hawthorn (Crataegus) as well as oak (Quercus).
