Eudonia delunella

(Stainton, 1849)

Wingspan 17-18 mm.

Rather a local species, occurring in various widely scattered wooded areas, the distinctive black and white patches on the forewing help to distinguish it.

The caterpillar feeds on lichens and mosses on tree trunks.

The adults fly in July and August, and can be attracted to light.
