(Clerck, 1759)
Wingspan c.17mm.
A local species, occurring sporadically in parts of southern England and Wales, ranging north to Derbyshire, but is nowhere common.
The adult moths, which fly in July and August, have a quite distinctive wing pattern. They rest among the foliage during the day, and fly later into the night.
The larval foodplant is wormwood, (Artemisia absinthium), and the larvae feed inside the stems and roots.
