Eucosma campoliliana

([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Wingspan 13-18 mm.

Quite distinctive with its black and brown markings on a white background, and white head, this species is distributed widely over Britain, but mainly coastally.

It prefers dry locations, and the larvae feed on the seeds and stems of ragwort (Senecio jacobaea).

The moths fly in June and July, from evening onwards, and are attracted to light.
