Epinotia subocellana

Wingspan 10-14 mm.

A fairly common species over much of Britain, it inhabits wooded and damp areas where its foodplant, sallow (Salix), occurs.

The adults are on the wing during May to July, flying from dusk onwards, and are attracted to light.
