Wingspan c.11 mm.
A species generally of high moorland and mountains, occurring in Scotland from Perthshire northwards, and in parts of Ireland, where it occurs at lower elevations.
The adult moths are on the wing in June and July, and can be found flying on sunny afternoons.
Bearberry (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi) is the larval foodplant, the larva feeding within spun shoots.
