Please note that the NBN Gateway map service has been terminated as of 1 April 2017.
As soon as a replacement map service is available, distribution maps will hopefully appear here again.
In the meantime, you can get some idea of distribution from the NBN Atlas website.

Large Thorn Ennomos autumnaria
(Werneburg, 1859)
Wingspan 40-50 mm.
A scarce species, occurring locally in a few counties in the south-east of England, although some records are thought to be migrants.
Like several other 'Thorns', it is an autumn species, flying in September and October.
The caterpillars are polyphagous, feeding on a number of deciduous trees.
