Wingspan 10-11 mm.

A small but attractive species, which is fairly common in grassy habitats and woodland edges throughout the British Isles.

The adults fly in the evening from June to August and can be disturbed from long grass.

The larvae mine throughout the winter within the blades of certain grasses, for example cock's-foot (Dactylis glomerata).
