Elachista argentella

(Clerck, 1759)

Wingspan 11-12 mm.

This small, all-white species is quite common throughout Britain.

It occurs in grassy habitats, where the larvae feed on a number of different species of grass, mining the leaves.

The adults are on the wing mostly in June and July, and fly from evening onwards, being attracted to light after darkness.
