Dichrorampha montanana
(Duponchel, [1843])
Wingspan c.12-14 mm.
The Dicrorampha species can be rather difficult to distinguish, but montanana can be often recognised by its pale colouration compared to similar species. However, care should be taken with worn individuals.
It is fairly regular in Wales, Scotland and northern England, but less so in the southern half of England.
Adults fly between June and August, and the larvae feed in the roostocks of yarrow (Achillea millefolium) and tansy (Tanacetum vulgare).
