Dichomeris derasella
([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)
[Synonyms: fasciella]Wingspan c. 21-22mm.
This species is now believed extinct in Britain, having been last noted in the 1930s from one of its former haunts in Surrey. On the continent it is found in central and Eastern Europe.
The larvae feed on blackthorn (Prunus spinosa) and probably other plants such as hawthorn (Crataegus) abroad, inside a rolled or folded leaf.
Adult moths fly in May and June.
