Diasemia reticularis

(Linnaeus, 1761)

[Synonyms: litterata]
Wingspan c.22 mm.

A small but well-marked species, this moth is a scarce migrant, occurring between May and September.

It is a European and tropical species abroad, and only tends to occur in the southern parts of Britain.

On the continent it feeds on ox-tongue (Picris), and apparently was resident for a while in the southern part of Britain in the 19th century.
