Delplanqueia dilutella

([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Wingspan 18-23 mm.

A coastal species, this moth can be found around most of Britain's coastline where chalk or limestone soil occurs, though some do occur inland.

The adults are at large during May and June, and are attracted to light. The larvae feed on wild thyme (Thymus drucei), often near a nest of the yellow ant (Lasius flavus), and form a silken gallery sometimes including debris from the ants' nest.
