Cydia amplana

Wingspan 13-20mm.

This moth is a suspected immigrant, being first found in Devon in 1990. The majority of records are from Dorset (especially Portland) and Devon. It has also been recorded from Spurn in North Humberside.

The adult is found in August. The larvae are said to feed on a variety of acorns and nuts, including hazel, walnut, sweet chestnut and beech.
