Small Chocolate-tip Clostera pigra

Wingspan 22-27 mm.

Ranging locally across a large part of Britain, this species occasionally flies in the daytime.

It inhabits damp woodland and boggy moorland, and flies in one or two generations between May and August.

The larvae feed on eared willow (Salix aurata), creeping willow (Salix repens), and similar trees.
