White-marked Cerastis leucographa

Wingspan 34-38mm.

A local species which occurs in scattered wooded localities throughout England and in Wales.

One of the early spring species, flying in March and April, it can be attracted to light and also visits sallow blossom.

The larvae have not conclusively been found in the wild in Britain, but have been reared in captivity on sallow (Salix) and various herbaceous plants.
