Caryocolum marmorea

Wingspan c. 11mm.
Reasonably well distributed around the coastal counties of the British Isles, this moth likes sandy habitats and is rarely found very far inland.
The larva feeds during the spring in a tube made from silk, on the lower leaves of the foodplants, common mouse-ear (Cerastium fontanum) and little mouse-ear (C. semidecandrum).
Adult moths fly from May to August and are attracted to light. They resemble Caryocolum fraternella, but are usually paler.
