Bryotropha galbanella
(Zeller, 1839)
Wingspan c. 15-17mm.
A northern species, occurring locally in forested areas in Scotland, although it has been found in North Yorkshire.
It is a large, broad-winged Bryotropha, with a pale ochreous ground colour, and creamy fascia.
There is a single generation, with larvae feeding on mosses in May and June, and adults on the wing between late May and August.
