Batia lambdella - Distribution map

Please note that the NBN Gateway map service has been terminated as of 1 April 2017.

As soon as a replacement map service is available, distribution maps will hopefully appear here again.

In the meantime, you can get some idea of distribution from the NBN Atlas website.

Batia lambdella

(Donovan, 1793)

Wingspan 11-17 mm.

Very similar to B. lunaris, but about 50% larger.

In England it has a similar range to that species, but can also be found in parts of Scotland and Ireland.

The larva feeds in the dead parts of stems, particularly gorse (Ulex).
