Bactra lacteana

Very similar in appearance to B. lancealana, this species has probably been overlooked in Britain. It was discovered here in 1996 and there have been several records since.

It is best identified by reference to the genitalic structure, but specimens showing two short blackish sub-apical streaks should be checked.

It is believed to feed on sedge (Carex) and rushes (Juncus).
