Aristotelia brizella

Wingspan c. 10mm
Unlike its rather striking congener, Aristotelia ericinella, this species is somewhat plain in appearance, with only the occasional blackish dot and small white patch on an otherwise unicolorous forewing.
It is quite a scarce species, typically coastal, and occurring in the south and south-eastal coastal counties of England.
The larva feeds on the seedheads of thrift (Armeria maritima) and occasionally common sea-lavender (Limonium vulgare).
Adult moths fly in two generations: May and June, then July to August.
