Feathered Brindle Aporophyla australis
(Boisduval, 1829)
Wingspan 36-42 mm.
Occurring sporadically along the southern coastline of England from Suffolk to Cornwall, and also south Wales, the species inhabits a range of coastal habitats such as sandhills and shingle beaches.
Flying from August to October, the moths can be attracted to both sugar and light.
The caterpillars overwinter, feeding on a number of low plants such as sea-campion (Silene maritima) and grasses.
