Reddish Light Arches Apamea sublustris
(Esper, 1788)
Wingspan 42-48 mm.
Resembling a pale version of Clouded-bordered Brindle (Apamea crenata) or a darker Light Arches (A. lithoxylaea), this species flies in June and July.
It is distributed mostly in the southern half of England with a few scattered occurrences further north.
The early stages are incompletely known, but the larva is said to feed on the roots of grasses.
